Molly Sullivan, M.A.

Biography: Mary (Molly) Sullivan, M.A. joined the Office of Alcohol & Other Drug Services (AODS) as Program Coordinator in July 2008. As an advocate of the DAPA program, Molly strongly believes in the transformative power of peer education concerning harm-reduction and prevention. In addition to providing administrative support for the DAPA program, Molly’s role at AODS largely centers around programming and education initiatives, including coordination of AlcoholEdu, Freshman Workshops, Alcohol Communication and Education Skills training and National Alcohol Screening Day. As a BASICS provider, Molly also works with students on an individual basis to provide confidential feedback, information and resources regarding substance use behaviors.

Within the last year, Molly worked as Education Specialist at the Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response, and co-lead two Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) groups in conjunction with Mental Health Services. Likewise, Molly has been invited as a consultant and a guest lecturer at universities in the Boston area as a result of her ongoing work with student-athletes and other special-interest student groups.

Molly has earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and Irish Studies, and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, both from Boston College. She is keenly interested in college student health and development, and as such completed her masters-level clinical internship at the Fitchburg State College Counseling Center. Prior to her work at Harvard University Health Services, Molly spent four years working in Publishing at Time, Inc. in New York City. Additional clinical areas of interest include substance use, trauma and resiliency.

A voracious reader and tenacious baker, Molly enjoys spending time outdoors, meeting new people and pursuing new interests.

 

 

Shannon Keating, B.A.

Biography: Shannon Keating earned her BA in History from Boston University in January 2012. While studying at Boston University she took advantage of the many opportunities to study and travel. She interned for a Solicitor’s firm in Dublin, Ireland for a semester, and making the most of her weekends traveling Europe. She also spent a semester in Washington, DC interning at the National Archives and Records Administration, where she helped field reference questions on information from the American Revolution up to World War I.

Shannon is now thrilled to begin her new endeavor, joining AODS as the new Staff Assistant. Having previously worked in a university health services setting, Shannon is prepared and is looking forward to getting involved in the many great projects and programs that AODS offers!

Shannon enjoys spending time with friends and family, and finding the next great book or movie to add to her must see and read lists.

 

Michelle Mandino, M.S.W.

Biography: Michelle Mandino is excited to be joining AODS as the Prevention Specialist this year. Michelle holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Suffolk University and a Masters degree in Social Work from Boston College. Prior to coming to AODS, Michelle provided the BASICS intervention to students at Northeastern University while completing her clinical practicum at the Office of Prevention and Education. Along with providing BASICS to students, Michelle ran psycho-educational groups and enjoyed presenting harm-reduction strategies and group-specific information to different cohorts on campus.

Michelle first became interested in wellness support and services when she interned at the Multi-Service Eating Disorder Association. Since then, Michelle has had a specific interest in challenges that affect both emotional and physical health. Michelle enjoys the proactive approach of prevention work and looks forward to acting as a BASICS provider for AODS.

Born and raised in the Boston area, Michelle enjoys running on the Charles, seeing musicals at The Colonial, and cheering on the Red Sox at Fenway.

Biography: Danielle is a junior in Winthrop House concentrating in Psychology with a secondary in Economics. She joined DAPA her freshman year. She loves being a part of the Promotion and Design committee and is excited about continuing her role as the subcommittee chair. Outside of DAPA, Danielle is a short sprinter on the Harvard track and field team.

Biography: Joanna is a sophomore in Kirkland still trying to pick a concentration.  She loves being on Promotion and Design and interning in the AODS office, and in her spare time she likes running along the Charles and hanging out with her block mates.

Biography: My name is Matt Abrams and I’m a junior in Adams House. I was born and raised San Diego and enjoy spending free time at the beach. Besides DAPA, I’m involved with social neuroscience and psychopathology research, HoCo, peer advising, etc. In my free time, I like to play tennis, run, hang with friends, and explore Boston. I’m excited to be a part of DAPA and am very dedicated to DAPA’s mission so please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions :D .

Biography: Serena is a sophomore living in Pfoho.  She is planning to concentrate in Psychology with a secondary in Economics. This past summer, she worked as an apprentice for a chef in Charlestown, SC. She loves baking, cooking, and everything DAPA… please don’t hesitate to ask her anything!
